Wairua Falls, Wairoa River - Logging Passage on verso reading "In the late 18th Century the power of the Wairua River used to float Kauri logs downstream where they were milled. The bigger logs would sometimes back up at the top of the falls and then when it rained, all would fall flat at once creating a spectacular event" Photograph Circa 1900 193mm x140mm
