House of Huia is thrilled to present our Mid Winter General Art Auction in Parts, our most exciting art auction yet, and one of the strongest and most varied sales we have brought to the room this year. This sale offers an incredible mix of New Zealand and international artists, featuring a stellar lineup of works spanning generations and styles. Represented New Zealand artists include Olivia Spencer Bower, Frances Hodgkins, Rata Lovell-Smith, Toss Woollaston, Bill Hammond, John Weeks, Gordon Walters, Don Peebles, and Ian Macdiarmid, a line-up that reflects the depth and richness of New Zealand's art history. International artists also make a strong showing, with an original signed Picasso, a Modigliani, an oil after Rubens, and an incredible cubist Léger among the standout highlights. These works offer collectors a rare opportunity to bring a piece of international art history into their collections. Across both parts of the sale, we are privileged to present a substantial consignment from the estate of Keith Morant, comprising over 20 works spread across the two parts, a fitting tribute to his lasting contribution to New Zealand art.
