Ivan de la Mare was the son of Peter Joseph and Margaret Anne De La Mare, of Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand. Captured while serving with the Divisional Signallers. He was killed on 17th August 1942 when the Nino Bixio, carrying Allied prisoners, was torpedoed in the Mediterranean.
