Lot Details
The Bank of Australasia one pound, hand signed and dated Wellington 13th July 1875. No. 28,494. It measures approximately 190mm by 117mm. Heavily circulated with a piece missing from the bottom right corner, numerous tape marks both back and front, a 10mm tear in the top right edge and with rough edges on three quarters of the note. No holes. In the Catalogue of the Trading Banks of New Zealand, 2006, by Alistair Robb it states that no used examples of this note are held either by museums or in private hands. Excessively rare.
