Albert Besnard (1849–1934) 'Fifer (After Manet)' LE 16/300 Aquatint Signed bottom right on recto Undated 475 x 290mm Private collection, Wellington Additional notes: An exceptional example of original printmaking reproducing a painted work. A. Besnard was a master printmaker whose work is held in major collections including the MET, Auckland Art Gallery, and Te Papa. Ex. the collection of Bill Sutch & Shirley Smith, then Sutch-Ovenden by descent.
