Antique Model Brixham Trawler BM27 - 'IBEX', Built 1896 by J.W. &A. Upham. L1.76m x H1.248m ( Including Stand) w facsimile of ships schematics. Hull built plank on frame painted black, slate and maroon, w pinned and planked deck. Gaff Ketch rigged w sliding bowsprit and main topmast. Rigging details include shrouds, ratlines, lanyards and deadeyes. Running rigging includespeak and throat halliards, main and mizzen sheets, topping lifts and mast hoops. Deck fittings include anchor, anchor winch, fish hatch, companion way, gratings, tiller, fairleads and ships boat. Note: The IBEX was the fastest trawler in the West Country, and she was sunk by gunfire from a German U-Boat off Beery Head in January 1918 off Berry Head, South Devon.
