House of Huia is thrilled to present the Premier Live Antique Auction. By far our largest and most incredible auction yet, this sale has both historically important items and some of the most beautiful pieces of furniture, rugs, and objets d'art. The sale begins with an incredible selection of Buxus plants, the result of decades of curation and care in bringing these plants to life. It then moves on to a variety of interesting furniture items, including a very old 17th-century elm country storage chest. The true "hero item" of the sale is the collection of historically important polar items. This includes an exceptionally scarce crew fork from the 1901 Discovery expedition with Scott and Shackleton as they voyaged to the remotest parts of the world, as well as a soup bowl from the ship's officers' mess. There are several other interesting historical items in the sale too, including an incredible pair of antique leadlight stained glass windows from the NZ Refrigerating Co. Ltd, Christchurch. For those looking for more Christchurch history, the Press Newspaper's old Board Table from the 1920's is also included in this auction, an important piece of journalistic history, that you can easily present in a home setting.
