George Chance (1885-1963) 'The Sunlit Gums' Silver Gelatin Photograph Signed bottom right & titled Bottom left on recto 330 x 250mm Private collection, Christchurch Additional Information: Framed by H. Fisher & Son Photograph Print is not signed, Image is stuck to paper that has been dated and signed. George Chance was a prominent New Zealand-based photographer and Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (F.R.P.S.), renowned for his pictorialist, painterly, and often rural-themed, silver gelatin "Camera Study" photographs, with over 30,000 prints sold. Operating from Dunedin. Often depicting serene, idyllic New Zealand landscapes and occasionally, nostalgic English-style scenery.
