Framed 225 x 275mm Back of Frame Information: 'Camera Study by Geo.Chance.F.R.P.S Exhibitor at the Salons of London, Paris, Toronto, Sydney, Pittsburg, Los Angeles, etc. Over 250 Awards including Gold Medal and First Order of Merit N.Z and S.S Exhibition 1925-26. Gold Medal Canadian National Exhibition 1926. First Award Hong Kong International Exhibition 1933. Diploma of Merit N.Z. Centennial Exhibition. No. 6289. P.O.Box 492, Dunedin, N.Z.' Additional Information: Luminescent/ shine to the edges of photograph due the the aging of the silver gelatin used to create the image. George Chance was a prominent New Zealand-based photographer and Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (F.R.P.S.), renowned for his pictorialist, painterly, and often rural-themed, silver gelatin "Camera Study" photographs, with over 30,000 prints sold. Operating from Dunedin. Often depicting serene, idyllic New Zealand landscapes and occasionally, nostalgic English-style scenery.
