Max Gimblett 'Remembrance' Silkscreen on lacquered brass quatrefoil Signed and Dated on verso OE # 10375 250 x 250mm Additional information: The story behind these beautiful works began in 2015 with the conception of an extraordinary fundraising project. Despite having no funding, permits, website, or formal strategy, renowned artist Max Gimblett offered his support to help bring the idea to life. Within just six weeks, thousands of these quatrefoils were created and later installed on the exterior of St David’s Church in Auckland, where they remained on display for three months. Each piece tells its own unique story. Differences in hue, colour, and subtle imperfections reflect the human presence of the soldiers and nurses who served during the Great War.
