Walter Bowring (1874-1931) Military training camp (1901) Ink on board Signed & Dated bottom left on recto 572 x 458mm The Press' private archive of Walter Bowring Additional Information: Unframed with drawn border and sketches/notes around border. Marked and Ink stained, with rough edges on card and foxing. Including graphite transfer. In a worn aged condition. Sketches from the annual military training camp held at the Addington Show Grounds for the Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry and Ashburton Mounted Rifles, culminating in the military sports held on 12 October 1901. As both an artistic creation and a historical document, the work serves as an important resource for the study of regional history.
