Walter Bowring (1874-1931) 'Mr Reid' Graphite, Ink & Gouache on board Signed leftt on recto 523 x 414mm The Press' private archive of Walter Bowring Additional Information: Unframed and noted 'Mr Reid' bottom right on recto. Marked with rough edges on card and foxing. Including graphite transfer. In aged condition. Potentially: Jas. Reid, listed as on the school committee for Wainui in 1900 and/or of Summerhill in 1912; J.B Reid, North Otago racehorse owner who died in London in 1930; John James Reid, first mate of Invirire in a case reported in Otago Daily Times in 1904 As both an artistic creation and a historical document, the work serves as an important resource for the study of regional history.
